The Rehendhi Award has been conferred to 14 women in recognition of their outstanding services to national development and society.
A special ceremony was held at Hulhumale’ Rehendhi School last night – to present the awards to its recipients. The ceremony saw the presentation of awards to the winners of both 2020 and 2021 – as last year’s ceremony was compromised due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Seven women scored the Rehendhi Award in 2020 – whereas seven women and one organization scored the award in 2021.

The Rehendhi Award is an annual award bestowed by the Gender Ministry since 2014 – to recognize the outstanding contributions to societal and national development on behalf of women across different fields, as well as to recognize those individuals and organizations working towards women’s development.
Last night’s awarding ceremony was attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, First Lady Fazna Ahmed, Gender Minster Aishath Mohamed Didi, Heritage Minster Yumna Maumoon and Home Minster Imran Abdulla.
