The Parliament has approved three candidates for appointment to the Local Government Authority (LGA)’s Board.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih nominated five candidates for appointment to the three vacancies on LGA’s Board. They are:
The Parliament’s Decentralization Committee, which vetted the candidates, approved three of the candidates; Niuma, Azha and Zeena.
The Parliament voted on the candidates on Monday afternoon.
Azha secured approval for appointment to LGA’s Board as an expert in gender equality with the unanimous consensus of 43 parliamentarians.
Niuma secured approval for appointment to LGA’s Board as an expert governance or public administration with the unanimous consensus of 43 parliamentarians.
And Zeena secured approval for appointment to LGA’s Board as a representative of civil groups with the unanimous consensus of 42 parliamentarians.
