COVID-19: 116 new cases, 84 from atolls

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Wednesday, announced 116 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 78,690.      

According to HPA, the 116 new cases include; 19 cases from the greater Male’ region, 84 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 13 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 357 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 76,135.      

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,321 active cases.      

There are 22 patients in hospitals.      

6,036 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours, including 1,929 from the greater Male' region.

August 11: 116 cases  

August 10: 110 cases 

August 9: 108 cases

August 8: 113 cases       

August 7: 113 cases 

August 6: 131 cases  

August 5: 104 cases  

Maldives has recorded 222 COVID-19 deaths.
