Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has banned the import, sale, and use of Ambassador brand’s vegetable cream in the Maldives
In a statement released by the MFDA, they noted that it has been brought to their attention by Europe’s Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) that an ingredient used to make Ambassador brand’s vegetable cream has been contaminated by a chemical.
RASFF has highlighted that ‘locus bean gum’ used in the production of Ambassador brand’s vegetable cream has been contaminated with a chemical called ethylene oxide.
Hence, MFDA has requested that the use of Ambassador brand’s vegetable cream be stopped until further notice.
Earlier this week, MFDA had also banned the use of Mushie brand’s children dinnerware in the Maldives.
