COVID-19: 123 new cases, 21 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 123 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 77,432. 

According to HPA, the 123 new cases include; 21 cases from the greater Male’ region, 82 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 20 cases from operational resorts. 

Meanwhile, 117 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 74,598. 

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,601 active cases. 

There are 16 patients in hospitals. 

5,024 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours. 

With the 123 new infections this Saturday, 805 people have tested positive over the last one-week period. 

June 31: 123 cases 

June 30: 107 cases 

July 29: 108 cases 

July 28: 141 cases 

July 27: 105 cases 

July 26: 98 cases 

July 25: 123 cases 

Maldives has recorded 221 COVID-19 deaths.
