Validity period of negative PCR test revised to 96 hours for all inbound travelers

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has revised the validity period of negative PCR tests to 96 hours for all inbound travelers to the Maldives.

Prior to this revision, the validity period was set at 72 hours – which is now deemed void. Hence, all inbound travelers to the Maldives will now be granted entry to the country subject to presenting a negative PCR test taken 96 hours prior to their departure from the first port of embarkation.

A tweet from Maldives Immigration confirmed the decision by HPA – which stated that the validity period of PCR test for all inbound travelers has been revised to 96 hours – making the previous revision to 72 hours void.

They also added that only children below the age of one will be exempt from the requirement of a negative PCR test.

An Immigration Officer from Maldives Immigration confirmed to Sun today that the revision was made as transit passengers traveling to the Maldives from some destinations consume more than 72 hours during their journey - in order to ease the difficulties they would face.
