Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 219

A COVID-19 patient admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.

The patient, a 60-year-old Maldivian male, passed away at 11:45 pm last Friday.

His death marks the second fatality in three days, and raises Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll to 219.

Maldives has 76,546 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 92 new cases recorded on Friday. 73,710 patients have since recovered.

The country currently has 2,606 active cases. 11 of the patients are hospitalized.
