Maldives records additional 144 COVID-19 cases in 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced 144 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 76,332.

According to HPA, the 144 new cases include; 36 cases from the greater Male’ region, 72 cases from residential islands outside Male’ and 36 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile,191 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,531.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,571 active cases.

There are 12 patients in hospitals.

6,138 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

July 16: 114 cases

July 15: 217 cases

Maldives has recorded 218 COVID-19 deaths.
