COVID-19: 140 new cases, 59 from Male’ area

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Monday, announced 140 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 76,019.

According to HPA, the 140 new cases include; 59 cases from the greater Male’ region, 74 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 7 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 95 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 73,321.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 2,470 active cases.

There are 14 patients in hospitals.

8,553 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 140 new infections this Monday, 857 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

July 19: 140 cases

July 18: 63 cases

July 17: 80 cases

July 16: 114 cases

July 15: 217 cases

July 14: 73 cases

July 13: 170 cases

Maldives has recorded 216 COVID-19 deaths.
