Closure of govt. office extended to July 3

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has extended the duration of the previously announced government office closure in the Male’ area by additional four days.

As per the announcement made by the President’s Office, the duration of the previous directive set to expire today has been extended to July 3.

Regardless of the decision to close government offices, the period would not be declared government holidays.

Accordingly, offices in Male’, Hulhumale’, Vilimale’, Thilafushi and Gulhifalhu will remain closed with employees working from home as needed.

Despite the temporary closure of offices, all essential services would be rendered without interruption by allowing the minimum number of required employees to attend their respective workplaces. However, government offices are urged to provide public service online wherever possible.

In his directive, President Solih stressed the importance of adhering to the instructions of the Health Protection Agency (HPA) to curb the spread of the COVID-19.
