COVID-19: Maldives records 295 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Friday, announced 295 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 69,831.

According to HPA, the 295 new cases include; 138 cases from the greater Male’ region, 146 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 11 cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 1,504 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 56,559.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 13,071 active cases.

There are 111 patients in hospitals.

4,736 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 295 new infections this Friday, 2,883 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

June 11: 295 cases

June 10: 323 cases

June 9: 341 cases

June 8: 370 cases

June 7: 552 cases

June 6: 412 cases

June 5: 590 cases

Maldives has recorded 192 COVID-19 deaths.
