Former First Lady Nasreena positive for COVID-19

Nasreena Ibrahim, the spouse of former Maldivian President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Maldives Reform Movement (MRM)’s Secretary-General Abdul Aleem told Sun Nasreena was tested for COVID-19 on Friday, after she began exhibiting flu symptoms.

He said that Nasreena is doing well, and is quarantined at home.

He noted that both Nasreena and Maumoon have been fully vaccinated.

Maumoon himself contracted COVID-19 in August last year, and was hospitalized in Male’.
