Police probe Telegram group selling women’s personal info

Police have launched a criminal investigation into the case of a Telegram group found to be selling personal information of women.

The personal information being sold in the group includes phone numbers, photos and Snapchat IDs of women.

The group was brought to light in a post by a Twitter user, who has revealed the information on the person who allegedly runs the group.

The group is posting photos of women, and asking for money to be transferred to a bank account for personal information of women in the photos.

The group has over 500 members.

President’s spokesperson Mabrook Azeez announced on Thursday night that police are looking into a case of a group allegedly selling personal information of individuals on social media.

Police have confirmed the launch on the investigation, but have yet to disclose details.
