COVID-19: 901 new cases, active cases also fall to 24,000

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 901 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 61,844.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 468 cases from the greater Male’ region, 417 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 11 cases from operational resorts, four from islands under development, and 1 from industrial islands. 

According to HPA statistics announced tonight, 1,017 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 36,862.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 24,818 active cases.

There are 252 patients in hospitals.

4,821 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

155 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
