With 1,299 new infections, COVID-19 active cases in Maldives exceed 25,000

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 1,299 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 60,943.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 799 cases from the greater Male’ region, 487 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 13 cases from operational resorts.

According to HPA statistics announced tonight, 744 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 35,365.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 25,419 active cases.

There are 270 patients in hospitals.

5,167 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
