Maldives confirms 1,299 new COVID-19 cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 1,299 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 59,644.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 890 cases from the greater Male’ region, 334 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and 48 cases from operational resorts, and 10 cases from liveaboards, and 17 cases from islands under development.

According to HPA statistics announced tonight, 462 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 34,621.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 24,867 active cases.

There are 285 patients in hospitals.

5,186 samples have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

147 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
