Police said on Sunday that they have CCTV footage which show the young man who fell from a building in suburban Hulhumale’ in early Friday yelling and running aimlessly in streets, and enter the building alone minutes before his fall.
The young man – identified by police as a 21-year-old Maldivian male – was found bleeding in the street Nirolhu Magu 6 at approximately 03:00 am on Friday, May 21.
Police said on Sunday they believe the young man fell from the top of a six-story building to the terrace of the adjacent a three-story building – a guesthouse. And from the top of the three-story building to the ground.
The young man remains hospitalized at IGMH in Male’.
Police said that the investigation so far has not uncovered any evidence of the involvement of another person in the incident.
“CCTV footage shows him entering a six-story building alone, 10 minutes before the incident,” said the police.
CCTV footage and witnesses also place him yelling and running aimlessly in streets before he entered the building.
“In addition, CCTV footage and witnesses place him being loud and running around back and forth along the streets of Hulhumale’ alone, before he entered the building,” said the police.
The case is under further investigation by the police.
