Nazaki Zaki appointed as VP of President

Maldivian High Commissioner for Malaysia, Nazaki Mohamed Zaki has been appointed as the Vice President of President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik’s political party, Gaumee Itthihad.

Zaki told Sun Online in an interview today that he was appointed to this post at the Council Meeting of Gaumee Itthihad held last night, following which he had assumed the responsibility of leading the party.

Zaki said that he joined Gaumee Itthihad in April 2012, subsequent to leaving Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Zaki informed that it is very likely that he leaves his job as High Commissioner and fully commit himself the party in the near future. He promised to work hard for the success of the party.

The post of Vice President of Gaumee Itthihad has been vacant since its former Vice President who was also one of the party’s founding members, former Chancellor of National University, Dr Mustafa Luthfee, left the party.
