COVID-19: Maldives records 590 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Saturday, announced 590 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in Maldives to 34,724.

According to HPA, the 590 new cases include; 439 cases from the greater Male’ region, 141 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 9 cases from operational resorts, and 1 case from liveaboards.

Meanwhile, 210 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 25,992.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 8,640 active cases.

There are 230 patients in hospitals.

4,014 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

With the 590 new infections this Saturday, 4,487 people have tested positive over the last one-week period.

May 7: 766 cases

May 6: 703 cases

May 5: 734 cases

May 4: 601 cases

May 3: 585 cases

May 2: 508 cases

 

83 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
