Authorities in the Maldives have once again ordered the closure of gyms, salons, and cinemas in the capital as the number of COVID-19 cases skyrocket in the Male' area.
An excess of 700 cases was confirmed in the country in the last 24 hours alone, and cases have been rising consistently over the past two weeks in the country.
Due to the surge, the Health Protection Agency today ordered the closure of all salons, cinemas, and gyms in the capital as a measure to curb the spread of the virus.
Authorities also imposed a curfew in the capital from 21:00 to 4:00 last night due to the surge in cases and prohibited travel from one island to another.
