COVID-19: Maldives records 71st virus death

Maldives has recorded its 71st death related to COVID-19, since confirming the first case back in March of 2020.

Sun has been informed that the deceased was an 80-year old male receiving treatment at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility due to the virus. 

In total the Maldives has seen the death of 64 locals and eight foreigners in relation to the virus. 

The time of death is unclear right now, as health authorities have not yet made any official comment. 

The first death was recorded back in April of 2020. 

The Maldives currently has 2,735 active cases. There are currently 68 patients hospitalized for the virus in the nation.
