COVID-19: Daily cases at 169, 67 from Male' City

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 169 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 24,548.

According to HPA, the new cases include; 67 cases from the greater Male’ region, 65 cases from residential islands outside Male’, 29 cases from operational resorts, and eight cases from industrial islands.

Meanwhile, 86 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 21,368.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 3,104 active cases.

There are 89 patients in hospitals.

3,044 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.

67 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.

VACCINE DRIVE

HPA stated 354 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. All of them were from atolls apart from the capital city.

Total 241,127 people have now been inoculated under the program; 132,044 from the greater Male' region and 109,083 from other atolls.
