Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 167 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives to 20,447.
The Maldives now has 2,664 active cases.
According to HPA, the new cases include; 135 cases from the greater Male’ region, 17 from other inhabited islands, 15 cases from operational resorts, and two from liveaboards.
Meanwhile, 117 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 17,712. There are 180 patients in hospitals.
4,089 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 over the last 24-hours.
64 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
The Maldives began mass vaccinations against COVID-19 on February 1.
HPA stated that 7,712 people were vaccinated in the last 24 hours. According to HPA, 3,568 of those vaccinated are from the greater Male’ region, and 4,144 are from the atolls.
Total 137,124 people have now been inoculated under the program; 84,891 from the greater Male’ region, and 52,233 from other atolls.
