2020 saw the dismissal of 9 judges, suspension of 2

Judicial Service Commission has announced nine judges were dismissed and two more suspended in 2020.

Annual statistics released by JSC for the year 2020 earlier this Wednesday show JSC made the decision to investigate 114 cases involving allegations against judges, and formed 44 committees to investigate the cases.

The commission said they investigated 73 cases submitted before 2020, and 41 new cases submitted during 2020. Investigations were completed on 54 of the cases.

JSC also reprimanded four judges and instructed them to complete mandatory training.

According to the statistics, 288 cases were submitted to JSC in 2020, 77 percent of which were rejected.

JSC held 95 meetings in 2020 -  3.5 times more than 2019.
