The first test flight has successfully landed at B. Dharavandhoo Airport, developed by Coastline Investment.
Head of Administration of Island Aviation, Ali Nashath, told Sun Online from Dharavandhoo this morning, that the Maldivian Dash aircraft landed at Dharavandhoo Airport about twenty minutes after it took off from Ibrahim Nasir Male’ International Airport at 8:00am.
“The test flight has landed successfully, without any problems,” he said.
Senior officials of Island Aviation, Coastline Investment and Civil Aviation Authority travelled to Dharavandhoo on the test flight. They were received with a warm welcome by the people of Dharavandhoo.
Scheduled flights to Dharavandhoo will commence tomorrow. Three flights will be operated weekly.
The airport will be officially opened on Wednesday by President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik.
