COVID-19: 50 cases reported over 24 hours

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 50 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed COVID-19 cases in the Maldives to 14,375.

According to HPA, the 48 new cases include; 27 cases from the greater Male’ region, 16 cases from residential islands outside Male’, and seven cases from operational resorts.

Meanwhile, 11 additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 13,474.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 845 active cases.

There are 61 patients in hospitals.

358,426 samples (including repeated samples) have been tested for COVID-19 to date.

49 patients have died from complications.
