Over 10,000 tourist arrivals in Maldives in first 3 days

Tourism Ministry has announced that over 10,000 tourist arrivals were recorded in the first three days of January.

Statistics released by the Tourism Ministry show Maldives recorded 2,005 tourist arrivals on January 1, 4,160 tourist arrivals on January 2, and 4,195 tourist arrivals on January 3.

With the figures, total 10,360 tourists have visited Maldives in the first three days of the year.

The top source market for tourist arrivals during the three days was Russia, with 3,226 arrivals. It followed 979 arrivals from Ukraine, 778 arrivals from India, 613 from Kazakhstan, and 554 from the United Kingdom.

541 tourist facilities - including 141 resorts/marinas, 11 hotels, 130 liveaboards and 259 guesthouses - are currently operation, meaning 41,660 tourist beds.

Maldives is currently open to all tourists, provided they have proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken maximum 96 hours before departure from their original destination.

Tourists are issued 30-day visa upon arrival.
