COVID-19: Out of 3,149 samples, 19 test positive

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced 19 additional cases of COVID-19, increasing confirmed cases in the Maldives to 13,493.

With the new cases, Maldives has a total of 543 active cases.

10 of the new cases were identified from the Greater Male' Area while six were confirmed from other inhabited islands. Two cases were also confirmed from islands under development while a single case was confirmed from an industrial island.  

Meanwhile, 17  additional COVID-19 patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 12,895.

There are a total of 44 patients in the hospital.

HPA specified that 3,149 samples were collected for the virus in the last 24 hours.

Health officials have so far collected 289,322 samples for the virus.

48 COVID-19 patients have died from complications.
