Elections Commission not able to hand over items to five parties

The Elections Commission has made an announcement, informing that it is unable to hand over items to five political parties due to lack of information about their opening hours and contact numbers.

The announcement states that items remain to be handed over to Social Liberty Party (SLP), People’s Alliance (PA), Maldivian Labour Party (MLP), Maldivian Social Democratic Party (MSDP) and Maldivian Reform Movement (MRM).

It has not been possible to obtain any details in relation to the nature of the items.

The announcement requests members of the parties to collect the items from the Elections Commission, and notified them to also publicise their opening hours and put up name boards at their offices.

One percent of the state budget is spent on political parties.
