COVID-19: Maldives records 24 new cases

Health Protection Agency (HPA), has announced 24 additional cases of the new coronavirus, increasing confirmed coronavirus cases in the Maldives to 11,591.

According to HPA, the new cases include 20 locals and four foreigners.

22 of the cases were identified from the greater Male’ region, while the remaining two cases were identified from other atolls.

Meanwhile, 33 additional coronavirus patients were confirmed to have made full recoveries over the last 24 hours, increasing total recoveries to 10,685.

With the new developments, Maldives now has 862 active cases.

There are 277 patients in isolation facilities and 52 in hospitals.

1,409 samples have been tested for the new coronavirus over the last 24 hours.
