Shahinda resigns from PIC

Shahinda Ismail has resigned from her post as the President of Police Integrity Commission (PIC).

Shahinda has confirmed to Sun Online that she resigned from the Commission yesterday.

She cited differences of opinion, and disagreement with some decisions made by the Commission’s majority as reasons for her resignation.

She also refuted rumours that she resigned in order to travel abroad for further studies. Shahinda said that she has no such plans.

Meanwhile, Shahinda’s husband, Hussain Shameem has also resigned as Deputy Prosecutor General. An official of Prosecutor General’s Office said last night that he resigned in order to go abroad for higher studies.
