Maldives’ COVID-19 death toll rises to 36

Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Saturday that a COVID-19 patient hospitalized at Hulhumale’ Medical Facility has passed away.

HPA identified the deceased as a 67-year-old Maldivian male.

He passed away at 07:00 am this Saturday.

“This is the 36th #COVID19 death in the Maldives,” announced HPA.

Maldives has 11,154 confirmed COVID-19 cases, including 41 new cases recorded on Friday. 9,995 patients have since recovered, and the country currently has 1,117 active cases.

49 of the patients are hospitalized.
