40th repatriation flight of Maldivian departs to Bangladesh

The 40th repatriation flight by national carrier Maldivian has departed for Bangladesh carrying 200 Bangladeshi nationals. 

They include undocumented foreigners in the Maldives. Maldivian has no repatriated a total of 7,732 expatriates. In total, around 8,000 expatriates have been repatriated so far. 

Economic Minister Fayyaz Ismail has previously stated that the repatriated individuals were done so in collaboration with Bangladeshi authorities. 

The Minister said that the government was working to repatriate around 20,000 individuals by the end of 2020.
