Expat in resort passes away after being electrocuted

An expatriate has passed in a resort of the Maldives after being electrocuted.

The expatriate was a Sri Lankan national working in Adaaran Rannaalhi resort of Male’ Atoll. Police said that reports of the incident were received around 20:00 last night. 

The incident happened around 18:30 yesterday and was taken to the island of Maafushi for treatment around 19:30. 

Police are now looking into the incident.
