MTCC speedboat carrying 26 runs aground off Kodhipparu

Maldives Transport and Contacting Company (MTCC) speedboat Kalhihi has run aground a reef off the coast of K. Kodhipparu.

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) said the incident was reported to the authority at approximately 06:48 pm on Tuesday.

There were 26 people on board the speedboat, including two women.

Those on board the boat are uninjured, and are now on a sandbank located in the area.

Coastguard is operating at the scene.
