True to its word, even the head chef of the restaurant is a Palestinian national. Ingredients are also brought in from the Middle East.

Although Maldivians are already well aware of delicacies such as Shawarma and Hummus as well as Arabian coffee, the country has never before had a restaurant dedicated to such dishes, making it a sure-fire hit with local customers and visitors to the nation.

It comes as no surprise that even the restaurant’s dessert section serves Middle-Eastern items such as Baklava and different types of Halwa.

“The true reason behind the opening of the restaurant is to deliver authentic Arabic taste to the Maldives. We will not be compromising in any way in terms of quality. The quality seen on the first day will be maintained in the future even.” Said Ragib Khalaf, the owner of the restaurant to Sun.

“Some of the items on the menu have to be pre-ordered, because they take a long time to be prepared. What we really want, is to bring the food of Middle-Eastern kitchens to the dining tables of the Maldives.” Said Ragib.
