Police arrest two in Male' City drug operation

Police have arrested two in connection with a drug operation in Male’ City.

The individuals were arrested during the operation that saw 3.3 kilos of drugs confiscated. MVR 57,550 were also seized by police during the operations.

Police said that the operation was carried out by the Drug Enforcement Department. Intelligence obtained at 18:15 yesterday led to the operation, said the police. Under the operation, two residences in Male’ City were searched. 

The local male individuals arrested are aged 26.

Drugs seized during the operation of the first residence include 84 film canisters and rubber packets, two packets as well as MVR 2,750. From the second residence searched, three film canisters, two packets as well as MVR 54,800 were seized.
