An expatriate worker in Addu City, Hithadhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.
Sources have stated that the individual was a worker at the Addu High School construction site. The individual was a 38-year old Bangladeshi national that tested positive after completing a 14-day quarantine.
Last night, a police officer quarantined in Feydhoo of Addu City, also tested positive for COVID-19. Contact tracing on the officer had resulted in the identification of six other police officers.
Treatment for COVID-19 is arranged at Addu Equatorial Hospital.
