Young man hospitalized after suffering muscle cramps in waters off Hulhumale’ passes away

A young man who was hospitalized after suffering muscle cramps while in the waters off Hulhumale’ has passed away.

According to a police spokesperson, the young man, identified as a 27-year-old Maldivian, had been in the waters to conduct some work on a boat docked in the Hulhumale’ lagoon.

The police were informed that he was taken to the hospital after he suffered muscle cramps and his condition deteriorated on Monday afternoon.

The police were later informed he had died, said the spokesperson.

The police said they are conducting necessary examinations in connection to the case.
