Maldives records 15th COVID-19 related death

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that an individual that tested positive for COVID-19 has passed away today. This is the 15th death in connection with COVID-19 in the Maldives.

This the youngest Maldivian to pass away from the virus in the Maldives. The deceased is a male aged 42. HPA stated that the individual was receiving treatment at the DH11 facility of Dharumavantha Hospital when he passed away at 12:25 this morning.

The Maldives has so far confirmed 2,831 cases of the virus. It has also confirmed 2,321 recoveries. Active cases are numbered at 482.

The first death related to COVID-19 in the Maldives was recorded on April 29.
