Three nurses and two patients in the IGMH ICU have tested positive for COVID-19.
Deputy Director-General of Health Ministry Thasleema Usmaan confirmed the news to Sun. They were identified as the contacts of the Indonesian national that passed away last night.
“The results of their tests were received today.” Said Thasleema.
When contacted by Sun, IGMH media said that they were not yet aware of the information but would do so after clarifying.
HPA concluded the death of the Indonesian national last night as unrelated to COVID-19.
The Maldives has so far confirmed 2,400 positive cases of the virus. 10 people have so far passed away from the virus, while 80 percent of those infected have recovered.
