A Maldivian flight scheduled to depart to Sri Lanka this Friday has been postponed.

The national carrier said that the rescheduled date for the flight will be announced later on.

Maldivian has previously conducted repatriation flights to Sri Lanka to evacuate locals who traveled to for medical care, Maldivians who traveled to Sri Lanka on a tourist visa, and Maldivian students who have completed their courses in educational institutions in the country but are unable to return home due to travel restrictions.

Maldivian's scheduled trip from Sri Lanka carrying 262 locals arrived earlier today. The carrier will also be conducting flights to Malaysia on June 15-17.

Travel restrictions are being loosened in Sri Lanka and Malaysia now after control of the number of cases.
