Ministry of Education has informed schools in the country to prepare for the recommencement of studies under the aspect of new normal.

A circular signed by the Education Minister Aishath Ali was sent to schools across the country today. It read that the Ministry has held discussions with HPA and relevant institutions regarding the recommencement of studies.

The discussions were focused on how to conduct studies based on the current situation of the Maldives regarding COVID-19. Under the advice of these institutions, the Ministry was now preparing to reopen schools in the country and begin studies.

Schools in the country closed in March due to COVID-19. Appropriate safety measures will be in place when the schools reopen, the Education Minister had recently stated.

Sessions will be distributed based on the number of students of that particular school and the status of the island regarding the virus.

The circular also read that HPA will finalize a date for schools to be officially reopened. However, it was instructed to follow the circular and make all necessary arrangements and preparations to reopen schools.
