China has provided the Maldives with equipment needed to build ten mobile homes in the country as part of assisting the country within its efforts to combat the COVID-19 virus.
A tweet sent out by the Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives, Mr. Zhang Lizhong, read that Chinese company CCCC had provided the Maldives with items such as planks. Upon a request by the Maldivian government, China has also provided the Maldives with 101 sets of beds to be used in hospitals.

In addition to this, China has also provided workers and equipment to build the migrant accommodation facility in Hulhumale’ phase 2.
Around 68 percent of the facility is now completed and is expected to be fully finished by May 18. The facility will house around 800 migrants.
The country has also provided the Maldives with 10 ventilators and 30,000 sets of surgical masks as well as other emergency equipment.
