13 locals test positive for virus, total 269

The government of Maldives has just announced that a further 13 individuals have tested positive for COVID-19 in the Maldives. The 13 individuals have all been identified as Maldivians. The total number of COVID-19 virus cases in the Maldives currently stands at 269.

The cases were updated on the Health Ministry website’s Covid-19 Dashboard.

Apart from just one individual, all the cases were traced back to the RSC cluster found in Male' City. The individual whose cluster was not specified was identified as a 19-year old male.

The cases confirmed today takes the total number of Maldivians infected to 117. A total of 115 Bangladeshi nationals have also been tested positive for the virus. 17 Indian nationals, as well as 11 Italian nationals have also tested positive for the virus in the Maldives.

A total of 269 cases have been confirmed in the Maldives so far. The number of active cases in the country is 252 with 17 people making full recoveries from the virus.
