A Maldivian has tested positive for Covid-19. This is the 17 case of the virus confirmed in the capital today.
The news was confirmed by government spokesperson Mabrouq Azeez just now. Mabrouq said that the individual was a local but did not provide any further details regarding the case.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in the Maldives now stands at 83. The authorities are expecting the number of virus cases in the country to reach a peak within 14 days.
Male’ City first confirmed a case on April 15, after which it was placed in a state of lockdown. The order was later extended to all areas of the country.
