One more Bangladeshi national tests positive

Health Protection Agency (HPA), on Tuesday, announced an additional Bangladeshi national has tested positive for COVID-19, increasing the total Bangladeshi nationals who have tested positive for the virus in Maldives to 24.

HPA said the new patient was being moved to an isolation facility, and that the agency was working on establishing links between the new case and existing cases.

13 more tested positive for COVID-19 from Male’ this Tuesday; eight Maldivian nationals and five Bangladeshi nationals. The new patients include an 80-year-old Maldivian, who is being moved to a special wing at the Dharumavantha Hospital.

The new patients increase cases in Male’ to 63; 33 Maldivian nationals, 24 Bangladeshi nationals, and six Indian nationals.

The surge in virus cases in the capital has increased the number of people who have tested positive for the virus in Maldives to 83.
