The Health Protection Agency has announced that it will be halting vaccination procedures in Male’ City area as the country endures a lockdown due to the Covid-19 virus.
The capital Male’ City is under lockdown for a period of 14-days after a surge in virus cases. The first case of the virus was identified on April 15.
The decision to suspend vaccination procedures comes due to the spread of the virus which could place children in danger. It would be safer for parents and children to remain at home during the situation.
The decision would be revised if the current situation in the country continued after the lockdown.
A total of 47 cases of Covid-19 has been identified in Male’ City in just six days. 14 cases were confirmed in the capital today alone.
