Will consider everyone

President Dr Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik has said that he will continue to listen to viewpoints of all groups in relation to the award of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) to Indian company GMR.

Talking to reporters prior to his departure to New York to attend the UN General Assembly, the President said that this problem requires an urgent solution, and that he will not hesitate to make the decision and take the necessary action, when the moment is most opportune.

“Based on the information I receive, I will make the decision when the time is right and in a manner which is most beneficial and least damaging to the Maldives,” he said.

The President has shared his views on this issue with political parties, while the parties have also informed the President their standpoints in relation to the GMR issue.
