If the situation in the country does not ease up during the period, many employees could also be dismissed from the company.
The company employs more than 1000 employees from 20 different nations across the world.
Tourist arrivals into the Maldives have been temporarily halted due to the situation with the virus. The government has also halted issuing on-arrival visas and TMA, which is heavily dependent on tourist arrivals has grounded most of its fleet with the measures that have seen its operations reduced.
However, the government is working to ensure that employees do not lose their jobs due to the situation with the virus as well as to reduce the economic impact of the virus. The government has established a job center platform for complaints regarding employment.
